Athula Dassana International Buddhist Temple Celebrates its 2nd Anniversary

Athula Dassana International Buddhist temple held its second year anniversary celebrations successfully at the Lampton School, Lampton Avenue, Hounslow, TW3 4EP on Sunday 7th July 2013. This day was special as devotees and other members of the community could remember the past events of the two years organised by this temple under the guidance of the head of the temple Ven. Wanduramba Kassapa Thero.

The temple opened on the 7th July 2011 and has held a number of various religious, cultural and social services within this second year.

On that day mahasanga, and many other devotees participated to extend their good wishes to the temple. Maha sanga were chanting pirith during one hour and also gave blessing to all who participated, supported, and sponsored the success of this event.

Venarable monks and other supporters extended their best wishes to the future of the Athula Dassana Buddhist Temple. They were delighted with the achievements the temple had made in this short period of time, which were organised by Venarable Wanduramba Kassapa Thero.

After the pirith chanting and blessing there was a “Dansela” which gave free food as based under the Sri Lankan culture. It was held between 1p.m. to 4pm. Many people came to taste the Sri Lankan foods on offer. The food was prepared by a number of devotees from the temple. They donated food and their time to this meritable course. Ven.W.Kassapa also was committed in organising the food preparation, and helped immensely.

The Athula Dassana Buddhist temple has organised various religious activities in the past two years. Ven. Wanduramba Kassapa Thero is very grateful and gave his blessings to all the devotees who supported, advised and encouraged to make the event of our temple successful.
