SLC UK COMMITTEE CONTRIBUTES TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCHOOLS CRICKET IN THE NORTH & EAST OF SRI LANKA

The SLC UK Committee would like to thank all Sri Lanka cricket supporters in the UK for their unwavering support for Sri Lanka cricket that has enabled them to contribute £11,000 to this worthwhile SLC project, to put down the basic infra-structure necessary for the game to be played in these areas. As part of a major development programme to develop the game in the North & the East of Sri Lanka, SLC have embarked on an ambitious schools side- wickets construction programme.

30 cricket practice nets, as part of a construction programme of 90 side-wickets,  jointly undertaken by SLC, Foundation of Goodness, SLC UK Committee and others, were formally declared open on the 5^th of November 2013.The occasion was graced by the President and members of the Executive Committee of SLC and cricketing personalities such as Muthiah Muralidaran.

The SLC UK Committee has been authorised by SLC to organise further fund raising events in theUK, when theSri Lankanational team tourUKnext year. The money raised will help develop schools cricket further, inSri Lanka.
