A high level delegation of United States and Sri Lanka based diplomats yesterday made a visit to Kilinochchi to review the ground situation there.
The army headquarters said that the delegation visited with the view to receiving and updated account of Army continuing contribution towards speedy development and the process of reconciliation.
Delegation, comprised of US based senior diplomats from Japan, Nigeria, Romania and high level diplomats from Colombo based Italy, South Africa and Brazil was headed by Dr Palitha Kohona, Sri Lanka’s UN Ambassador met Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi at his Office.
Major General Udaya Perera, during the interact with the visiting delegation presented a comprehensive account on Kilinochchi’s transformation from one of the most feared terrorist stronghold to be now a peaceful area with all development activities, it added.
