Sri Lanka’s Nadeeka Lakmali has qualified for the finals of the women’s javelin throw event at the 14th IAAF World Athletic Championships in Moscow with a throw of 60.39 meters today.
Lakmali has already won three gold medals so far at international events this year.
She set a new Sri Lankan record in the Javelin throw event with a distance of 60.64m, at the 20th Asian Athletics Championships held in Pune, India.
She had gained first place in all 3 stages of the Asian Athletics Grand Prix to win gold.
