Macrae-led C4 team given visas to cover CHOGM

Sri Lanka’s High Commission in London, on Tuesday (05) issued entry visas to the British Channel 4 media team, to cover the forthcoming Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meeting (CHOGM) in Sri Lanka.

‘No Fire Zone’ film maker Callum Macrae, Newscaster Jon Snow and Foreign Affairs Correspondent Jonathan Miller, were among those who had received entry visas.

Sri Lanka issued visa to Callum Macrae to travel to Sri Lanka, he was denied a visa by the Indian government to fly to New Delhi to screen his documentary ‘No Fire Zone’.

Last Sunday, ‘No Fire Zone’ was shown on Channel 4 where it showed new footage alleging that Sri Lankan soldiers captured LTTE television presenter Isaipriya and later murdered her. Army headquarters denied the allegation. (By Sujeeva Nivunhella)
