Indian Buddhist community celebrated 121th birth anniversary of late Dr.B.R.Ambedkar at Birmingham Buddhist Maha Vihara

Indian Buddhist community who are connected to the Birmingham Buddhist Maha Vihara at 216, New John Street West, Hockley, Birmingham, B19 3UA held 121th birth anniversary of late Dr.B.R.Ambedkar on 13th May at Birmingham Buddhist Maha Vihara where there were few hundred of followers attended including Consul General of India. This program was guided by Ven.Dr.Witharandeniye Kassapa – O.B.E. Chief of the Birmingham Buddist Maha Vihara along with other 3 permanent resident monks at Vihara. Ven.Kirama Chandarathana, Ven.Punchiwewe Sirinanda and Ven.Nepale Kapilawansa. Also this celebration was mainly connected with 2556th Wesak program as well as well as con incident of late Dr.Ambedkar was well known figure not only Indian soil but internationally about his vigorous fighting against cast system.

He was the first law minister of free Indian parliament as well as he drafted Indian constitution where he embedded Buddhist symbol to Indian national flag and later he embraced Buddhism along with half a million people in 1956. May he attain everlasting happiness of Nibbana by the power of his good actions for down trodden people of India.
