Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe states that the government of Sri Lanka is prepared to address all posers directed at the country during the next session of the United Nations Human Rights Council which is due to be held in March this year.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today minister Samarasinghe noted that even officials at the Ministry of External Affairs were prepared to face this challenge.
Minister Samarasinghe also noted that plans were underway to submit a detailed report during the upcoming session of the UNHRC on how the Human Rights Action Plan had been implemented within the country.
Moreover during the media briefing journalists queried Minister Samarasinghe on how the government plans to justify the recent impeachment of the Chief Justice & amendments to the Criminal Law Special Provisions Act.
