Festival of Cricket Launching Ceremony 2013

The Launching Ceremony of the Festival of Cricket Silver Jubilee Carnival 2013 was held on 28th June, at the Sri Lanka High Commission in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Chris Nonis, the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom and the representatives of the Sponsors of the event. Also present were the Office Bearers for 2013, Past Presidents, and Chairmen of the current sub-committees.

The Hon. President of FOC 2013 – Dr. Sankaralingam presented a letter from the FOC 2013 Organising Committee to His Excellency Dr. Chris Nonis inviting him to be the Chief Guest. Bank of Ceylon the main sponsor of this event since 2007 represented by Nimal Fernando, CEO/Executive Director of Bank of Ceylon (UK) Ltd, handed the sponsorship letter to the Hon. President, FOC 2013. Our sponsor since the begining of this annual event – Sri Lankan Airlines, represented by Jeremy Soertsz, Country Manager, SriLankan Airlines, handed their sponsorship letter to the Hon. President FOC 2013. Previous Co-Sponsors – Anything.lk/M.I.Mobile represented by Sam Seinthan, handed their sponsorship letter to the Hon. Secretary FOC 2013 – Leslie Gunaratna. Nalin Perera of Sri Lanka Tourism handed their letter of sponsorship to Hon. Treasurer FOC 2013 – Natkunam Wimalendran. The new Co-sponsor – Fairway Sky Gardens represented by Reezan Rameez handed their sponsorship letter to the Hon. Secretary FOC 2013.

Master of ceremonies – Nalin Perera, invited His Excellency Dr. Nonis to speak., and having given the audience good advice on how to enjoy the event within our multicultural society, His Excellency wished members of all the participating schools and the organising committee every success on the day.

The Silver Jubilee of the Festival of Cricket will be celebrated in Carnival style on Sunday 28th July, 2013 when 28 teams of talented cricketers will play on 6 full size pitches of the beautiful new grounds of The Merchant Taylor’s School, Sandy Lodge Lane, Moor Park, Northwood, HA6 2HT, and is easily accessed from Moor Park station on the Metropolitan Tube Line. The weather is forecast to be sunny and warm, so come along and enjoy the entertainment laid on for you in true Sri Lankan style.

Commercial Charges and Rates for, and the application form for sponsorship, advertisements, trade and business is available on
http://www.festivalofcricket.org. Businesses can participate in the FoC as a Gold, Silver or Bronze sponsor. A Business/Trade, Old Boys’/Girls’ Associations or Charities can hire a marquee for the festival to promote their products and/or services. Organisations and Individuals can Banner advertise at the festival grounds, in the FoC Silver Jubilee Souvenir, on the FoC website http://www.festivalofcricket.org and on the facebook page
